Jericho Connection
I have just returned home with a team of 8 people who went to Israel with me. This trip seemed as if it would not happen. But the Lord provided funds for each person to go. We stayed 3 days on the Sea of Galilee, 2 day on the Dead Sea-Masada and 4 days in Jerusalem. Highlights of this trip were: Travel on the Sea of Galilee with Daniel Carmel who is a Messianic recording artist and he captained the boat. From there we went to Capernaum and visited Peter’s home, the main synagogue and imagined what it would have been like to see a person lowered through a roof to be healed by Jesus.
From Galilee, we went to Masada, Dead Sea, Ein Gedi, and Qumran. It is incredible to swim in water and not sink. To visit Ein Gedi where King David hid from King Saul and Qumran the place where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. In the city of Jericho, we visited with a man who was a driver for Yasser Arafat and an assassin for the PLO. Today he is a believer in Jesus, loves the Jewish people and has a ministry called Seeds of Hope. He has a burden for the sons of Ishmael to know Jesus. He asked me if I would bring soccer, basketball and medical teams in the future to do ministry in Jericho.
In Jerusalem, we visited with the Curator of the Dead Sea Scrolls. He spoke with us about the impact of finding a scroll with the full book of Isaiah. On Thursday we had the privilege to host a banquet with Chosen People Ministries in Jerusalem for 40 Holocaust Survivors. We had a beautiful dinner with music and testimonies about God’s love for His Chosen People Israel.
